I have loved the show since it first aired on WGN, but I missed episodes due to them getting interrupted by baseball games. I loved their ships, and I liked that there were different variations of the Eagle. I always wondered how many Eagles they had on Moonbase Alpha because of the ones that crashed or were destroyed in battle.

I always hoped that NASA would design a vehicle similar to the Eagle to fly in space. I don’t have much in my Space: 1999 collection due to funds, but I still do have my Commander John Koenig, which at that time I spent my allowance to buy. In later years, I was able to acquire three Die Cast Metal Eagles, which were the Rescue Eagle Transporter, the Eagle Transport, and the Limited Edition VIP Eagle from the pilot episode “Breakaway.”

I was proud to own all three, and I would love to be able to add a few more of the Eagle Models to my collection one day.
