Seeing a powerful woman as the co-lead of a major sci-fi series left a serious impact on a young Jeffrey Morris. Nearly five decades later, he traveled to Malibu, California to interview Barbara Bain (Dr. Helena Russell in Space: 1999). While they had met before, this was the first time Jeffrey was able to formally interview her on camera. They discussed the life and lengthy career of the 92-year-old actress, and looked back at how she felt working on Space: 1999. In a very emotional portion of the interview, Jeffrey introduced his childhood friend Anna Barab to Barbara. Anna described to Barbara how deeply she was influenced by her performance as Dr. Russell to become a scientist.
