NEW YORK: WILLIAM SHATNER

TICONDEROGA, NY | WILLIAM SHATNER INTERVIEW

July 14, 2024

Jeffrey traveled to Ticonderoga, New York for a very special interview with Hollywood legend
William Shatner. They met at the Star Trek: Original Series Set Tour located in downtown
Ticonderoga. What better location for their interview than a complete recreation of the bridge of
the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701). Standing on the bridge of this iconic ship, they engaged in a
spirited conversation that touched on life, the universe, and everything.

Star Trek was in syndication in the years between the height of the NASA Apollo missions and
the release of Space: 1999. The adventures of Captain Kirk and his crew were a major influence
on an entire generation. Recognized around the world for his role as Captain James T. Kirk in
the Star Trek franchise, William Shatner’s life and award-winning career have also included an
amazing array of other projects and accomplishments.

This interview was a unique, refreshing look at a man who has impacted many people in his life.
He and Jeffrey discussed the lasting influence of Star Trek on our society. They also spoke
about how William Shatner was personally impacted by traveling into space aboard a Blue
Origin rocket in 2021. Their interview is a perfect fit for The Eagle Obsession, a documentary
that explores a unique moment in human history—when people walked on the Moon, and a
nostalgia for a future that never occurred.

Also on location was The Eagle Obsession co-executive producer Dan Madsen. Dan is the
former founder, president and publisher of the Official Star Trek Fan Club and Official Star Trek
Communicator Magazine. He has known William Shatner for many years and was instrumental
in making this interview possible.

A special excerpt of this interview will be available in the coming weeks.
